Bio: Dr. Robertson graduated from the University of Missouri–Columbia College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She started her veterinary career working in a mixed-animal practice before serving as a relief veterinarian for companion-animal clinics across Kansas City. In 2008, Dr. Robertson purchased Martin City Animal Hospital, where she focused on improving the quality of patient care and team culture, which contributed to an almost 200% growth rate during her ownership. Dr. Robertson joined IDEXX as a professional services veterinarian for the Kansas City region in 2020. Her clinical interests include surgery, personalized preventive care, and behavior.

This seminar will provide a rapid overview of the CBC, emphasizing what information is lost when it’s not included in screening healthy animals and evaluating sick patients. The CBC is highly sensitive for identifying underlying illness, characterizing severity of disease, and providing objective information regarding the progression/regression of disease.

William D. Saxon, DVM, DACVIM, DACVECC Virtual
Bio: Dr. Saxon received his DVM from Iowa State University in 1986. He completed his internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and residencies at the AMC and University of Pennsylvania. He practiced in the San Francisco area until 2007 and owned an intensive care unit in a specialty referral practice in Washington, D.C. He has been an IDEXX Reference Laboratories internal medicine consultant since 1997. Dr. Saxon is a coauthor of Manual of Small Animal Emergency and Critical Care Medicine and has authored articles on cardiomyopathy, acute abdomen disease, drug toxicities and burn injury.
