Bio: Board certified by both the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine and The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, Dr. Richard Goldstein is Chief of Medicine at the Animal Medical Center in New York City. A graduate of the Koret School of Veterinary Medicine at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Dr. Goldstein has received numerous awards, including the ACVIM Endocrinology Society Research Award and Norden Distinguished Teaching Award. The author of 11 textbook chapters, Dr. Goldstein has published 33 articles in refereed journals and has been invited to present his work throughout the United States and abroad.

Dr. Goldstein will talk about canine leptospirosis: the current epidemiology, typical and atypical clinical presentations and diagnostic modalities that enable practitioners to improve their diagnostic acuity for these diseases. He will discuss the ACVIM Consensus Statement on Leptospirosis and important vaccination protocols for disease prevention.
